Where do you retrieve your supplies when you arrive? (Answers are different for ECP teachers)

Teachers will receive a key fob to enter the building. This fob will work on the front and side doors on the days you teach. Should you share your fob with any other staff or madrichei, family members, etc?

No! Your fob is for YOU ONLY.

What is one task you can do to keep your classroom clean?

For teachers who teach in the Temple Beth Shalom building:

● Erase boards

● Wipe down tables. All cleaning supplies are provided in classroom cabinets.

● Sweep floor when needed.

● Recycle or throw away anything you don’t want/need.

● Put away general supplies back in the cabinet.

● Put special supplies back in your bag and return to the break room downstairs

▪ If you would like to hang on to any of the special supplies that have been provided to you, please tape a note to the outside of the bag or leave the bag in your classroom and notify the Logistics Coordinator.

● Return projectors and Chromebooks to the break room downstairs

● Collect nametags and return them to your shelf.

● Remove trash from cabinet and throw it away

● Fill out supply form if you need supplies (found in your cabinets or in 304)

● Fill out “Classroom Cleaning” checklist and return to Logistics Coordinator

▪ Failure to do so will result in the Logistics Coordinator reaching out to the teacher.

▪ Repeated failure to perform required classroom cleaning will result in disciplinary action.

For teachers in the ECP:

Who should teachers contact to formulate a plan if a student is struggling in class?

It is important that the lines of communication remain open with guardians. If a student is struggling in class, please contact the guardians to formulate a plan that will ensure that their child’s issues can be addressed rather than waiting for a significant moment that may occur in the classroom.

If there is an emergency, who should you call?

Call or text 9-1-1 or press one of the “lockdown buttons” as these will notify 9-1-1. When you call or text 9-1-1, be prepared with our address: 7300 Hart Lane, Building 5, 78731—we are the first building on the left as you enter the campus.

Lock down buttons can be found in the staff break room, the kitchen, and the elevator lobbies on the 2nd and 3rd floors.

What should you do if an issue arises that you are hesitant to bring up with guardians?

Speak with the DYE (Jordan &/or Gabe) about any conversations that may be of a contentious nature, especially whenever an issue arises that you are hesitant to bring up with guardians. It is important to make sure that the DYEP is aware of any issues. If a guardian approaches the DYEP about an area of concern in your classroom, the DYEP will always encourage the parent/guardian to speak to the teacher directly. If the guardian is uncomfortable or feels unsatisfied with the conversation, the DYEP will bring the concern to the teacher’s attention.
