To be used in the event of death in the immediate family. Employees may use up to five workdays per occurrence; however, only two workdays shall be permitted at no loss of state personal or District local sick leave and requires an Obituary or proof of passing
What is Bereavement Leave
Absences that exceed the guidelines are generally considered excessive. In addition, excessive absenteeism may be established anytime an employee’s absences negatively affect departmental/school operations, as determined by the supervisor.

Failure to report to work at the scheduled start time and/or failure to return to work promptly at any point during the normal workday (i.e., lunch, breaks, etc.). Reporting to work at the scheduled start time means reporting to the location where assigned duties are performed and not merely signing or clocking in. For example, a teacher who is assigned to take charge of students at 7:40 a.m. must be in the designated classroom or at the designated place of assignment not later than that time regardless of the time the teacher signed in.

To be used in the event of disasters and life-threatening situations involving the employee or a member of the employee’s immediate family
What is a Family Emergency
Principals should identify and address violations of District policies as they arise by taking appropriate progressive disciplinary action. Examples of violations include:
Failing to be at work during the scheduled time

Notify Ms. Montgomery Cancel the job before the work day begins if you know you will make it.
Call the front office before 2:30 if you believe you
need to secure your substitute for the next day
