What does KICC mean?
What is the first thing you must do when you arrive to site?
Clock in on the iPad and put the correct coding.
Note: forgetting to clock in 3 times a month results in a write up. This falls under not abiding by your work responsibilities.
What is the teacher to student ratio?
1 teacher to 20 students.
In emergencies, 1 teacher to 25 students.
a student fell , what should you do ?
1. YOU MUST HAVE EVERYTHING IN YOUR BACKPACK UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE WRITTEN UP.
2. Band-Aid and ice pack
3. parent communication form
What are things students can do to be recognized?
Doing what they are suppose to be doing when no one is looking
helping clean
complete homework/indoor activities
helping others
being safe
What is the purpose of KICC?
(Hint: if you were to talk to a parent or auditor, what would you say?)
The purpose of KICC is to bring students from each group to represent their class. Students help with their community by
1. Voicing and sharing the message
2. Help assists with jobs
- Help make posters for activities
- Help set up any major parties or projects
- Help run assembly or share ideas
This is like a Leadership Student Club
What is uniform protocal? (This consists of 4 things)
1. Black Y Polo
2. Appropriate Bottoms (Slacks, Jeans, Khaki, Cargo)
3. Close toe shoes
4. Y Lanyard !!! (if new, name badge)
When is a student allowed to be unsupervised?
1. There shouldn't be a reason to switch groups
2. If you believe it is beneficial or NEEDED ,
Communicate with your Director/Assistant Director
KEEP IN MIND STUDENT TO TEACHER RATIO.
- Praising students for any of the 5 character counts
- ex: thank you for being responsible for zipping up your back pack or completing your homework
- ex: thank you for having integrity by picking up trash or using kind words with friends
-ex: thank you for being safe in your line
What can the KICC team do weekly to help with your group?
1. Monitor backpacks

3. Look over 2 other students to help with classroom jobs or roles

When a student needs to zip up their backpack what should you do?
stand at the door to have eyes on them
Student consistently has potty accidents, what are preventative actions?
- Take your group out on a nature walk and outdoor restroom breaks (option to try to use restroom or wash hands)
- set a timer daily to have your student use restroom
- watch body language/ be aware
When are the best days to recognize students for character counts?
EVERY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!

What can your KICC Kids advertise and spread the word of?
- Service Learning: Animal Shelter Donations or Help Recycle
- Please bring donations
- Spread character counts recognition
What are things you should do during opening?
- Approve your previous day (on your timecard)
- Sharpen Pencils and grab materials for lesson
- Check/Explore cabinets and help organize
- Clean the fridge
A student has a meltdown during homework time, you need to speak to them, what do you do? where do you talk to them?

You should be facing towards the class ( YOUR BACK SHOULDN'T BE TURNED AWAY FROM YOUR CLASS)

Two students are involved in a physical fight. What do you need to do? How should you handle it?
- Attention Getter
- All students take a knee or sit on the floor
- Walkie for an available staff to come
- Break students up
- INVESTIGATE students individually
- Parent communication form and have director communicate/call
When do you share character counts with your groups?
EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!!
every day Character Counts should be mentioned to remind students of what the expectations are.
As adults, we need to remind students any of the 5 character counts to ensure that students follow the rules daily.
Why is the KICC team important?
This displays student leadership amongst our program
What is the important thing for opening for the responsibility list
- boards and tablet out on the front (when parents arrive for dismissal)
- 8 tables down(prepare to be ready when students are there)
- double bag trash bags!!!!!!!!!
When combining a class, your head count is 10.
your co teacher's class is 9.
What is your headcount when asked on the walkie?
Group 1- 10
Group 2 - 9
YOU MUST KNOW THE ENTIRE HEADCOUNT IN THE CLASS.
A student is not being safe nor listening. The student runs out of the classroom. What do you do?
1. Communicate on the walkie what is happening.
2. Ask the team to stand at the door to keep an eye on the student
3. Ask for Director/Assistant Director for support
