  • If you are unable to speak with a live person, staff must state that they will have to disconnect the call (ex: "It appears I am unable to speak to a live person, so I'll need to disconnect this call").
    • Disconnect the call.

    • NOTE: For better caller experience there may be times when it is necessary to exceed 5 claims.
      • Ex. The provider checked 4 claims on the first IM, and has 2 claims to check on the second IM. Both claims for the second IM should be looked-up before transferring to PE

UHC Dental Customer Service hours are from 7AM to 10PM Central Standard Time (CST), Monday through Friday. If an IM calls between 7AM - 8AM Eastern Time (EST) and 9PM - 11PM EST, they will need to call back during business hours so they can be transferred to Customer Service.

  • If requested, provide the IM with the providers that are participating in the dental discount plan based on zip code.  
  • Direct the IM to the discount website for additional details on the specific discounts.
