Why does suffering exist?
it exists because of Original Sin. we experience ignorance, suffering, death and concupiscence or the tendency to sin
Why does Jesus heal people?
Because He loves us, wants to save us, and wants to deliver us from sin. He wants to bring us into relationship with the Father
What is the purpose of Anointing of the Sick?
To give spiritual and physical strength to those who are suffering a serious illness or are near death. To give physical recovery
What is the proper Disposition for the anointing?
Someone who is in danger of death because of old age or serious illness.
What is Scripture?
a source of divine revelation.
The written word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit
Why does God allow suffering?
God does not cause suffering, He allows it so He can bring a greater good out of it.
"We know that all things work for good for those who love God" Romans 8:28
Who gives the apostles the authority to anoint the sick and pray over them for their healing?

He loves them and comes close to them. He heals people physically and spiritually. Oftentimes the physical healing He gives is a sign of spiritual healing or the forgiveness of sins

What is the Magisterium?
The Pope and Bishops who have teaching authority over the church
receive authority from Jesus: Matthew 16:19 Jesus gives Peter the "keys to the kingdom of Heaven"
What does the Cross teach us about suffering?
Our suffering has meaning and value. God brought the greatest good, our salvation, from the worst suffering- Jesus dying on the cross.
His suffering on the cross redeems and saves us.
Our suffering can also be redemptive: we can offer our suffering as a prayer for others for their salvation.
What can suffering teach us?
Illness and trials teach us discipline and virtue.
It can make us a better person, more holy.
Suffering humbles us and reminds us of our need for God.
God can use our suffering to help others; we can offer it for our salvation and the salvation of others.
Where in the bible do we receive the sacrament of the Anointing?
James 5:13-15
"Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of the faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven"
What are the Last Rites?
the final sacraments someone receives before they die:

2. Viaticum - their final Eucharist: "provisions for the journey to the Father in Heaven"
