Gettysburg: Lee tried to invade the north, troops bumped into each other. Confederates lost because the Union army had more reinforcements. Both sides lost a lot of men. Lincoln shows up to console the families of fallen men.
Vicksburg: Confederates were besieged over 6 weeks in Vicksburg Mississippi in the south and the union army starved them out. Civilians lived in dugouts in hillsides. The Union was able to capture Vicksburg and take control of the Mississippi River which cut the Confederacy in 2 pieces. The south never regains control of it.
