Shows you exactly what something looks like.

Tells the definitions of some of the words found in a text.
What is Bullet points or a bullet list?
Tells the names of chapters and what page the chapters can be found
What is the Table of Contents?
Helps readers understand by creating interest or emphasizing information. Located in a section separate from the text.

Tells the names of certain parts of a photograph or illustration.
What is a Label?
Tells a book’s title, author, illustrator, and publisher

Change this to make information stand out to the reader and signal its importance.

Tells what pages the reader can find certain topics.
What is an Index or the Index?
Make text slightly bigger and darker so that it stands out. Signals to the reader that something in a text is important and may be found in the glossary.
