Something, especially a clue, that is or is intended to be misleading or distracting.
What is a Red Herring?
Trying to get the convince the reader a specific point throughout your essay.

"If we don't move soon, we're all going to die!"
Pathos
"Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers." Is an example of this.
What is an Alliteration?
This states the aim of the paper and may give insight into the author’s examples and evidence.
This is a fallacy based on the assumption that the opinion of the majority is always valid: that is, everyone believes it, so you should too.

This type of essay uses research to back up an argument, as well as to disprove others.

This rhetoric device is meant to appeal to logic, means to convince an audience by use of logic or reason.

Metaphor
This includes the evidence and support of the paper in addition to the author’s ideas, making up three fifths of an essay.
