The New Mexico and Utah territories would decide on slavery through popular sovereignty 3. The slave trade (but not slavery) in Washington D.C.

Also known as First Manassas, this battle was fought in July of 1861 in the the Eastern Theatre in the state of Virginia. As the first major battle of the war, both sides had a small collection of hastily trained soldiers. It was a rather even battle, until Confederate reinforcements arrived, ending the battle with a Confederate win rather quickly after.
