The middle passage was a three leg voyage for African slaves and trading. It starts in Africa where the people are taken from their homes and brought to a cargo ship. The ship then goes and lands in Europe where they trade slaves for cargo such as iron, cloth, brandy, firearms, and gunpowder. The surviving slaves are brought to America and then traded for cash crops such as sugar and tobacco.

An event where five girls in the Massachusetts Bay colony, in a town called Salem, believed they were bewitched. Two of the girls, Abigail and Betty were asking their slave Tituba questions about Barbados. She told them stories of demons and spells. These girls believed they had been bewitched. They started uncontrollably laughing, screaming, rolling on the ground, making animal noises and mimicking each other. They were brought to court and the people who were convicted for witch craft by the girls were put on trial. 20 people died and over 100 people were put in jail.

Roger Williams was a baptist man who founded Rhode Island. He was put on trial in 1634 in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Roger was put on trial for heresy and sedition. Then, He was banished from the colony. He created the first baptist church, he believed that government and religion should be two separate things. He also treated the Natives fairly and paid them for their land. He learned their language and culture.
