This system supports & shapes the body. Protects the internal organs. Forms some blood cells & stores minerals.
What is the Skeletal System?
This holds the body erect. It makes movement possible. Moves bodily fluids & generates body heat.
What is the Muscular System?
Also known as the midline, this plane divides the body into equal left & right halves.
What is the Midsagittal plane?
This term refers to things situated in the back or the back part of an organ.
What is Posterior?
This space contains the major organs of digestion.
What is the Abdominal Cavity?
This system produces new life.

This system filters blood to remove waste. Maintains the electrolyte and fluid balance within the body.

This system defends the body against invading pathogens & allergens.

What is the Transverse plane?
This term means farthest from the midline or beginning of a body structure.
What is Distal?
This surrounds & protects the heart & the lungs.
What is the Thoracic Cavity?
This system protects the body against invasion by bacteria—and aids in regulating the body temperature and water content.

This system receives visual & auditory information & transmits it to the brain.

This system removes and transports waste products from the fluid between the cells. Destroys harmful substances such as pathogens and cancer cells in the lymph nodes. Returns the filtered lymph to the bloodstream, where it becomes plasma again.
