*All students should complete the FAFSA. The FAFSA helps each schools financial aid office determine if a students qualifies for additional need money (both from the government or institutional) or loans. Many scholarships also require the FAFSA.

What is... Your coursework 

* College/Universities will in addition to looking at your GPA look at the specific coursework taken, being sure that you are meeting requirements. Of course taking Dual Credit, Honors or AP classes shows more rigor and that you are pushing yourself to take leading to or equal to college level work in high school. Be mindful that if you are looking to play college athletics at a Division I/II or even NAIA schools will also evaluate your transcript to ensure the acceptable courses are taken.

*For a college/university admissions application you want to first request from a core/relevant teacher and/or counselor. For scholarships or other programs you may need to also request from an outside community member or other staff. 

Please give 2-3 weeks in advance to the deadline to request any letters. Letters for college admissions will be asked in person and then via Naviance. Letters for scholarships or other programs, will be requested in person, followed by how the organization would like you to submit. You may have the same recommender write you a letter for multiple applications.

For example students who complete successfully at UH Maui College can automatically transfer to one of the UH 4 year universities to continue their studies; of decide to apply as a transfer student to other institutions.
