Biomes that are very hot and have little or no plant life and rain

Found near the North and South Poles

Support small animals such as prairie dogs and mice as well as large grass eaters such as bison

Cactuses have fleshy stems and leaves with waxy coatings

The layer of the soil beneath the surface soil that stays frozen all of the time

This helps to keep the leaves from drying out and protects the needles for damage from the cold winter temperatures

Active only at night when temperatures are cooler and eating flowers and leaves that store water

Tundra found at the top of mountains

A large are characterized by it's climate and animals that live there

Lions, Leopards, Zebras, wildebeests, and clumps of trees

Help the jackrabbits get rid of body heat
