Caravaggio is an immoral man, a thief, that is thwarted by the human condition. In a sense this keeps him humane, even when he is not moral. Kip has to isolate himself and completely remove his humanity in order to complete his task and be a moral man who saves lives daily. He needs another to bring him back to his humanity.
