"A stout, middle-aged man, with enormous owl-eyed spectacles, was sitting somewhat drunk on the edge of a great table, staring with unsteady concentration at the shelves of books" (Fitzgerald 45).
Owl-eyes. This quote is made by the narrator as he and Jordan were searching the house for Gatsby.

Gatsby. While Nick and Jordan had a conversation with two girls, one of the girls claimed that Gatsby was a German spy during the war.
How did Nick know about Gatsby's party?

Jordan Baker. This quote is stated by Nick Carraway while he was riding in a car with Jordan. It was during this car ride that Jordan claimed she likes Nick.
She heard the most amazing thing at Gatsby's party but she swore she wouldn't tell what she was told.
Jordan. She had a secretive conversation with Gatsby and we can assume that this conversation was regarding his previous relationship with Daisy. She was not able to tell Nick at the time because she had previously promised Gatsby that she would not tell him yet.
Nick wasn't actually in love with Jordan, what did he say he was feeling for her?
Nick said he felt "a sort of tender curiosity" for Jordan.
Why was Owl Eyes so impressed by Gatsby's books?
Because they were real. When Nick and Jordan walked in the library, Owl Eyes exclaimed how amazed he was that all of Gatsby's books were real.
"I thought they'd be a nice durable cardboard. Matter of fact, they're absolutely real" (Fitzgerald 45).
Owl Eyes. He makes this comment to Jordan and Nick while in the library.
"With ... [her] slender golden arm resting in mine, we descended the steps and sauntered about the garden" (Fitzgerald 43).
Jordan Baker. Nick and Jordan saw each other at the party and they spent most of the night together.
He often ate dinner at the Yale Club.
Nick. He described that his dinners at the Yale Club were the gloomiest events of his days.
How does the mood at Gatsby's party change towards the end?
The married women began to start fights with their husbands, usually for trivial reasons.
What was the majorly described damage done to the car that Owl Eyes was in?
The wheel was detached during the crash.
"I am one of the few honest people that I have ever known" (Fitzgerald 59).
Nick. The narrator, Nick, made this comment after he had the thought that Jordan was dishonest.
"It was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life" (Fitzgerald 48).
Gatsby. As we stated earlier, this quote is stated upon the initial meeting between Gatsby and Nick. Nick is awestruck by the physical appearance of Gatsby.
He knows very little about driving and got into a wreck towards the end of Gatsby's party.
Owl Eyes. Nick spoke to Owl Eyes after the wreck and Owl Eyes said that he barely knows anything about driving.

The fruit was brought to his house every Friday and was sent away every Monday after all of it was used. We can assume that all of this fruit was used for Gatsby's parties.

Jordan. She said this to Nick while they were riding in her car together.
"'Your face is familiar,' he said, politely" (Fitzgerald 47).
Nick. This quote was stated by Gatsby while he was having his first conversation with Nick. Nick was unaware he was speaking to Gatsby at this time.
He was in the "ninth machine-gun battalion" during the war.
Nick Carraway. This detail came up while him and Gatsby were speaking about their time in the war.
How did Gatsby describe his party on his invitation sent to Nick?
He described it as his "little party" that was occurring that night.
Why does Jordan like large parties so much?
She claims that they are very intimate and that small parties have no privacy. This is contrary to what many people would think.
"I was in the Seventh Infantry until June nineteen-eighteen. I knew I'd seen you somewhere before" (Fitzgerald 47).
Gatsby. Gatsby made this comment to Nick as they were introducing themselves to each other.
