Stock vs. Custom

There are two types of windows out there: Stock and Custom

A stock window is pre-made in 2-4 inch increments. This is what you see at your typical Home Center (Lowes and Home Depot)

The problem is, that means you're either getting a window that is too big or one that is too small. A contractor won’t use one too big because they would need to cut into block which is too messy and time consuming. So they use one too small.

The problem with that is, is leaves large gaps around the window that they will need to fill with wood shims and then cover and seal up.

Wood shims will absorb moisture and swell, pushing against the window frame and effecting operation. Also, wood isn’t an insulator, and you'll have energy loss around the window. These windows are meant for new construction/additions

What we specialize in is Custom windows. All of our windows are custom made to the nearest 1/4 of an inch so they fit into existing opening. Which means to install them, we don’t need to disrupt the block, stucco, or dry wall.

The benefit to you is, there's no mess, no maintenance and no energy loss. Simply put, we don’t make the home fit the window, we make the window fit the home.

Cancel Script

It’s a federal law for a homeowner to be given a 3 day right to rescission.  This is a law to protect homeowners from unethical contractors. Obviously we do not fall into this category but we are not exempt from the law. However, if you feel that there is any reason you would cancel this project, please let me know now because I can take a no as gracefully as I can take a yes, but I cannot take a yes today only to have you change your mind tomorrow. So, is there any reason at all that you would cancel this project?”

THEY MUST SAY NO

Great. I was raised where your word and handshake is more important than any of this paperwork. So do I have your word and a handshake that you’re not going to cancel?

What is the 15 year rule in Florida and what should H/Os know about it?

THE 15-YEAR RULE IN FLORIDA PROHIBITS INSURERS FROM DENYING COVERAGE OR NON-RENEWING POLICIES BECAUSE OF THE AGE OF A PROPERTY’S ROOF.

LESS THAN 15 YEARS OLD, INSURERS CAN’T REFUSE TO ISSUE OR RENEW YOUR POLICY.

MORE THAN 15 YEARS OLD - THEN YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO HIRE AN INSPECTOR TO EVALUATE YOUR ROOF.

IF INSPECTOR DETERMINES ROOF HAS MORE THAN 5 YEARS, YOU'RE ELIGIBLE FOR COVERAGE.

Warranty Question: "So what is covered?"

That’s a great question - at any point, you can go into Project Pulse and pull up the warranty information for your project.

• In general…

• PRODUCT: In the event there is an issue with the product due to a manufacturing error, the product is covered by Pella, one of the most reputable names in the industry.

• INSTALLATION: In the event of an issue due to installation error, that is covered by Power.

• OTHER: In the event the issue is not covered, we will put together a plan to fix the issue and depending on the situation there could be a charge for that.

• The most important part is that Project Pulse makes it easy to report there is an issue and we take it from there. We do all of the heavy lifting for you, and keep you informed throughout the process.

UPS Script

As far as pricing goes, I will give you a price good for a full year, guaranteed not to go up. If you remember the chart I showed you earlier, prices in this industry go up almost every year, so having a price that is locked in is comforting.

Also, I have another option for you that can make the project even more comfortable. We are 100% committed to keeping our prices low and affordable. To do this, we use a well-known business model that’s called an efficiency business model. The goal of this business model is to make a company extremely efficient and increase its volume so they can offer better prices to their customers.

Its a very common business model and you probably see it every day. It’s probably best recognized by delivery services like UPS and Amazon. For example, anytime your shipping something, you always have 2 options:

One option is to ship requiring a signature, proving that the package was received (maybe if your sending something expensive).  Packages that require signatures are more expensive to ship because they could take multiple visits to deliver the package.

The more common option is that UPS or Amazon just drop the package by the front door and snap a picture to prove it was delivered. With one trip deliveries, they are able to deliver more packages, at much faster speeds, and significantly lower prices.

Many companies have copied this model and so did we. It all comes down to efficiencies and opportunities. Across all of our territories, we meet with over 1,000 families a day, every day.  Let’s assume everyone said “come back tomorrow.” Well, we have 1,000 appointments tomorrow too, which we’d have to miss. So in a two-day period we could have seen 2,000 customers, but we could only see 1,000 because the first 1,000 people needed a second visit. But if we WERE able to service 2,000 customers instead of only 1,000, we’d do far greater volume and could afford to give lower prices.

Now, don’t get me wrong, if I have to visit your home 100 times to earn your business, I will.

The way an efficiency model works is that we offer a CHOICE. For homeowners who like our product and service, and can move just a little bit faster, we offer a large incentive with very slim margins to move ahead with the job on our first meeting. We call that our FIRST VISIT DISCOUNT.

So, I’m going to give you 2 prices; a price guaranteed for one year, and I’ll give you the first visit discount opportunity. If you want to take advantage of this discount, I’ll have to know today before I leave. Whatever option is best for you, is best for us.
