The Greasers are an example of Chosen Family. They take care of each other and look out for each other. Some of the boys don't have great real families, but they have the Greasers.

The Socs are wealthy while the Greasers are poor. Their lives and outlooks are very different because of this. The Greasers fight to survive, the Socs fight for fun.
