Why didn’t Cherry visit Johnny at the hospital?
Answer: She didn't want to visit him because Johnny killed her boyfriend and she loved Bob.They haven't seen the good side of Bob and he makes people follow him.
What happened to Johnny that made Dally want to have his dead wish?
Answer - Johnny died after the rumble and during when Ponyboy and Dally visited him. Dallas only has Johnny as his best buddies and Johnny was like Dally’s family member.
What does Cherry Valance mean by “Things are rough all over”?
Answer:Cherry Valance is basically saying that everyone has problems no matter what side of town they live at and how much money they have.
How did Dally react when Johnny died?
Answer: Dally was really mad and was crying too.
He also couldn't take it so he robbed a store and he died because of the stealing/robbing (his death wish).
How did Ponyboy deal with Johnny’s death ?
Answer- Pony reacts very sadly and he’s worried that the judge will separate him and Dally apart .

Answer: Johnny reacted angrily when the nurse told him that his mother wanted to see him because he didn’t want to see his mother.His mother is probably gonna yell at him about how much trouble he is causing them.
How did Ponyboy react when Randy told him that he wasn’t going to the rumble?
Answer: He was really surprised because Randy said that the rumble won’t change anything.The Socs will still be Socs and the Greasers will still be Greasers. Ponyboy also noticed what Randy meant and saw that Randy isn’t a soc but was a normal human.
Did the violence help throughout the story?
Answer:It didn’t help because people kept getting killed and it didn’t do anything.
What does Johnny mean when he says “Stay Gold” at the end ?
Answer: I think it is because Johnny wants to tell Ponyboy to be happy going and always looking forward to it.
How does Sodapop feel about Ponyboy and Darry fighting all of the time?
Answer:Sodapop felt like the middle man because he saw both their points and he couldn't take a side. Darry wants Ponyboy to do well and go to college because he couldn’t go. Ponyboy thought Darry hated him and wanted him out of the house because he is always so mean to him. Ponyboy never knew how much Darry loves him.
How does the theme “Money isn’t everything” support the story?
Answer- After Bob died Randy soon realized that money isn’t everything and it doesn’t matter if you're poor or rich. Bob is rich, but still an alcoholic and the Socs still have problems. At the end of the day Cherry lost her boyfriend and Randy lost his best friend.
How did the Curtis family relationship change from the beginning to the end?
Answer: In the beginning of the novel, Darry and Ponyboy can’t get along and Darry tells Ponyboy that he doesn’t use his head and was kind of disappointed. In the end, they treated each other with kindness and respect. They were like when their parents were with them and having nice days.
How did Ponyboy and Randy's relationship change throughout the book?
Answer- Ponyboy and Randy didn’t have a relationship in the beginning, but after Bob died they started to open up to one another because they realized that fighting won’t help the situation.
For the theme “it’s important to maintain your innocence”, what text evidence supports it.
Answer- Johnny and ponyboy got into an abandoned church after the self- defense. They lost their innocence and needed to run away and get into a fire burning in the church . They went to the hospital and a rumble started to happen then the greasers lost their buddies. They needed to go to a judge for self- defense and Ponyboy was scared of having a different family.
