How many different columns that have different properties are there?

There are 18 different columns

100

MASS: The amount of matter in any object

True

100

what are groups?

They are the columns on the periodic table

100

What is matter?

Its anything that takes up space and makes up everything in the universe.

100

when was he born?

8 February 1834

200

How many elements are there on the periodic table?

118 confirmed elements

200

The Periodic Table is made up of false elements

False

200

What are Valence electrons?

They are Chemical properties are largely based on the outer most electrons

200

What are elements?

Any substance that cannot be broken down into simpler stable substances by chemical means.

200

How many siblings did he have?

16 brothers and sisters ; the exact number is uncertain

300

Who came up with the Periodic Table?

Dmitri Mendeleev

300

There are 120 elements known to man right now

False; 118

300

what does having metallic properties do?

it is an element that has 1, 2, or 3 valence electrons. Which, will give up electrons easily.

300

What an atomic structure made up of?

electrons, neutrons, and protons

300

How old was he when his father died?

He was 13

400

How many metals are there on the periodic table?

There are 91 elements that are metals

400

There are two types of characteristics that can distinguish matter; They are Physical properties and Chemical properties

True

400

What do nonmetals do?

An element that has 4, 5, 6, or 7 electrons. Which, will gain electrons easily

400

What is the electron cloud?

It is a space where the electrons move around which is found in the nucleus. It's attracted to the nucleus because of its negative charge.

400

When did he start studying at school?

At age 16

500

What's the difference between how the Periodic Table is arranged now and how it used to be?

The modern periodic table ordered the elements by increasing of the atomic number. While Dmitri Mendeleev's was ordered by increasing of the atomic weight.

500

Elements always occur alone.

False

500

What are groups with 8 electrons considered to be

Groups that have 8 electrons are said to be stable

500

What do Isopotes have?

Has the same protons but a different number of neutrons.

500

How did he figure out that the Periodic Table was missing elements?

He wrote the elements out on notecards and tried to find a pattern but couldn't so he moved the cards around trying to find out what it was. He fell asleep on his desk while doing this and when he woke up his mind did the work for him. When he had fell asleep he had a dream about how they were laid out.
