- Curley’s wife wants to be a movie star, however, as a farmers wife, she would not make it to Hollywood, especially because of her untimely death. - Crooks wants to tend to the garden on Lennie's farm, however, the plot takes a couple turns for the worse, and they discover that the farm is just a pipe dream. - Candy is inspired by George's dream and wants to own a couple acres, but just like with Crooks, the farm isn't going to work out.
