Henry VIII wanted to divorce his wife (the first Catherine) cause she didn't have any boys. The Catholic Church wouldn't let him divorce her, so he decided to start his own church. His son Edward VI and daughter Elizabeth I strengthened the church.

What is selling of Indulgences? Why is this practice unbiblical?

If you payed the Catholic Church money, then loved ones that were stuck in purgatory (paying for their sins) could go to heaven. The Bible says that Jesus payed for all of our sins, we don't need to give money to anyone to "buy" our salvation.

Priesthood of the believer: believers can pray directly to Jesus, they don't need a priest to do this for them. When the veil of the temple was torn, it showed that we can go directly to God with our prayers (only the High Priest could go to the Holy of Holies to pray to God)

Mannerism was dark and distorted, displaying the confusion and division of the early Reformation. Baroque art was bold, light, and open, reflecting the energy and life of the later Reformation.

Recanting is taking back what you said. Luther said he would only recant if he was shown by Scripture that he was wrong.

The Reformation made it possible for people to believe things other than what the Catholic Church taught. Our founders had access to Bibles in their languages, so they could study the Word and learn about what true Christianity should look like. Samuel Froehlich was a Protestant.
