This is increased rate and depth of breathing.
What is hyperventilation?
The process of removing oxygen from the blood.

The combining term for the larynx or voice box.

The scroll-like cartilages covered with highly vascular mucous membranes; also called conchae.

A patient with a shortened nose.

This is an abnormal displacement of organs through the muscle separating the chest and abdomen.

This is connective tissue that stretch across the larynx and produce a voice or sound.

The area between the lungs which holds the aorta, lymph nodes, heart, esophagus, part of the bronchial tubes, trachea, nerves, thymus and thoracic duct.

The overall process of gas exchange including oxygen and carbon dioxide.

This is the substance that tends to reduce the surface tension of a liquid in which it is dissolved. Prevents the alveoli from collapsing during expiration.
