Myth or Fact: TST allows Marijuana ONLY if it is "Medical Marijuana" for Clients and Staff.
MYTH:
Under federal law, marijuana is considered schedule 1 drug with no medical use. As such, medical marijuana is not recognized under the ADA. Therefore, under the drug-free workplace agreement, employees and clients are prohibited from the use of medical marijuana.

MYTH
Harassment can be verbal (including slurs, jokes, insults, epithets, gestures or teasing), visual (including offensive posters, symbols, cartoons, drawings, computer displays, text messages, social media posts or emails) or physical conduct (including physically threatening another, blocking someone's way, etc.)

Staci received a call in 2005 from the ED of TST. Awaiting her was a woman with all of her possessions in her hands, and a cat carrier. Staci convinced the woman to allow her to foster her cat and vowed that day to remove the "no pets allowed" sign on the doors of Domestic Violence shelters.
