Equity is at the center of the 10 Essential Public Health Services because in order to achieve optimal health for all, the essential public health services actively promote policies, systems and services that enable good health and seek to remove obstacles and systemic and structural barriers such as poverty, racism, gender discrimination, and other forms of oppression that have resulted in health inequities.
What is the CMH program and what services does it provide?
The Complex Medical Help Program (CMH), is a health care program in the Ohio Department of Health (ODH). Our public health nurses coordinate care across the county! CMH’s mission is to assure, through the development and support of high quality, coordinated systems, that individuals with special health care needs and their families obtain comprehensive care and services that are family-centered, community- based and culturally sensitive.
