Director
Run the full show with lights, sound, set, and props. But no make up, hair, or costumes for the actors
Technical Rehearsal
A hidden opening in the stage floor through which actors can make unique or surprising entrances and exits.
Trap Door
Creates the sound effects, preshow music, scene change music, and musical cues for a play.
Sound Designer
Responsible for greeting and seating audience, taking tickets, and handling any "crowd" issues
Ushers
Assists the director in rehearsals, creates a prompt book of all tech cues. Calls the show during performances
Stage Manager
Everyone runs the show exactly as if there's an audience. Full costumes, make up, hair, and technical elements. No stopping!
Dress Rehearsal
Large, thin curtain or wall at the back of the stage. Used for projection or lighting purposes
Cyclorama
Gathers or creates all props used in a play, instructs actors on their use, and keeps them organized.
Props Master
Oversees the "front of house" operations including seating the audience, programs, tickets, and managing the ushers.
House Manager
Oversees the entire process, works with director, manages the budget
Producer
Once a show has closed, the set is immediately disassembled, props, costumes, and set pieces are stored. Note: in non-professional shows actors are expected to help.
Strike
Room at the back of house (or audience) with lighting/sound boards. Has a window facing the stage for viewing
