We cannot joke or post about hazing on social media. Any hazing with result in being referred to the Grand Council. What does Theta Phi consider hazing?
“Hazing is defined as any action taken or situation created, intentionally, whether on or off Fraternity premises, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule. Such activities or situations include creation of excessive fatigue; physical and psychological shocks; wearing in public, apparel which is conspicuous and not normally in good taste; engaging in public stunts and jokes; morally degrading or humiliating games and activities; late night sessions which interfere with academic activity, and any other activities which are inconsistent with rituals of the Fraternity or regulations and policies of the educational institution.”

What are the two levels of punishment that can occur if a sister does not follow the rules regarding alcohol in the house or anything else that violates National Policy?
First Offense: The sister caught with the alcohol will be fined $75 and will get all of her alcohol poured out immediately.
Second Offense: The sister will be immediately referred to Advisory Board with the thought of suspension.

Who can you tell fraternity affairs to?
No one outside of Theta Phi. They are secret and private and should not be discussed with outside members.
What is considered badge attire?
Must name 5/8 things listed in Standards Packet.
Business professional attire
Dress shirt and pants, dress shirt and skirt, or dress
Nice flats or heels
Shoulders must be covered – must have sleeves or a sweater worn.
No: denim of any color, jeans, t-shirts, sweatpants, leggings as pants, sweatshirts, tennis shoes, sandals, UGGS, Sperry’s or flip-flops.
Formal shoes with laces are permitted as long as they are not canvas shoes, tennis shoes, or other casual shoes.
If wearing a jacket, the badge cannot be worn on it. This includes, but is not limited to, North Face jackets or pullovers and zip-up hoodies.
All jackets, other than dress suit jackets or cardigans, must be removed if participating in a ritual.
Badge is worn on the outermost layer.
What happens if a sister does not abide by the National Bylaws and the National Handbook and Policies on the Alcohol Policy, including anything that disobeys the law?
Immediate suspension of position(s) for the remainder of the semester
Immediate suspension of attending social events for the remainder of the semester.
Immediate suspension of attending privileged Theta Phi Alpha hosted events, such as recruitment and formals, for the remainder of the semester.
Requirement to attend specific events (dependent on each situation, determined by Standards Board)

What is the policy on tardiness for mandatory events?
Unexcused tardiness to any mandatory event is unacceptable.
Arriving more than ten minutes late without notifying the Secretary will result in either a $5 fine or requirement of providing snacks to the next chapter meeting. The board will make this decision.
