This can be a humbling question, but can also show your character. By humbly admitting the mistake you made yet confidently explaining what you did after can make a great impression. Have an example of this ready so it doesnt catch you off guard. 

Tip: Choose a light hearted mistake that you learned more from than you thought you would. i.e. your ringer was off so you missed your alarm and was late.
