What are some things you should do when interacting with a surveryer?

Be friendly, and polite.  Smile.  

If you are not sure what the surveyor is asking, then ask them to repeat or rephrase the question.

Answer only the questions asked...only expand on questions when asked to.

If you're not sure of the answer...use your resources (badge buddie, the LOOP, Policies, supervisor, etc.  Or let them know you are not sure and will find the answer for them.
