Why do you think Arthur Radley put the blanket on Scout?

Arthur Radley put the blanket on Scout because he knew who Scout was from Jem and her always going to the tree and playing around the Radley house. The night of the fire, she was standing near the Radley's and figured she was cold so he put the blanket on her.

100

What other present did Jem get from Atticus?

Atticus got Jem a chemistry set.

100

Who's house caught on fire?

Miss Maurdie's

100

Why did Jem want Scout to put snow only on the back of the snowman?

Jem wanted Scout to put snow only on the back of the snowman in the yard after it snowed. This is because he wanted to put snow on the part that is showed and didn't want her part to be displayed.

Have you ever had a situation turned around on you as Francis did to Scout? What was the situation?

When I was in 3rd grade, I had brought a test home and left it on the table. After a while, I went to get my test to show my parents and noticed a word I didn't know, so I asked my parents. Apparently, it was a bad word and they did not believe that I did not write and I got in trouble for it.

200

Would you have stayed out if the next to yours was on fire? Why or why not?

If the house next to mine was on fire, I would want to go back in for my stuff because that's my life. Realistically I would stay out as Jem and Scout did in To Kill a Mockingbird because that's dangerous and I should risk my life for items that can be bought.

200

Why does Aunt Alexandra disapprove of Scout?

Aunt Alexandra disapproves of Scout because she showed up to Christmas dinner at Finch's landing in overalls and she thinks she does not act very lady-like.

200

When did Mrs. Radley pass away?

In the Winter of 1885.

200

Could someone have started the Maycomb fire? If so, who do you think started it?

It is possible that someone started the Maycomb fire. I think it could have been a Radley, but not Boo Radley. It's not Boo Radley because he put a blanket around Scout on the steps of his house when the fire happened. It could have Nathan, to scare the town, or by accident.

200

How did Jem react to Atticus' compliment and what does it show about their relationship? Relate this to how you perceive and react to compliments.

Jem reacted shyly to Atticus' compliment after building the snowman and blushed in response which shows that Atticus' opinion is important to him. Similarly, I react just as Jem did. Compliments are in a way foreign to both Jem and I.

300

From your personal experience, would you ever get mad bout a person being mysterious as Boo Radley is?

I don't think I would ever get mad if a person like Boo Radley was around. I would get a little agitated that I wouldn't know much about the man, and I would probably show up on his doorsteps to ask him questions when he does not expect it.

300

Where do Jem and Scout spend Christmas every year?

Jem and Scout spend Christmas at The Finch's Landing every year.

300

What is the name of the man Atticus is defending?

The mans name is Tom Robinson.

300

What type of person does Atticus seem to be?

Atticus seems to be a nice man who believes on peace on earth for everybody. When he talks to Scout after school about defending a negro, he uses respectful words. He gives off the idea that he thinks certain people shouldn't be treated badly despite their differences.

300

What moral does Atticus teach Scout when asking her not to fight? How does this relate to a moral taught to you by your parents?

After finding out Scout fought with Cecil Jacobs, Atticus asks her not to fight, teaching her that violence is never the answer. My parents also taught me that violence is never the answer during my childhood, using the physical fights between my siblings as an example.
