At Finch's Landing during the week of Christmas, Francis was saying some cruel things about Atticus and the man he is to be defending. I think if Atticus heard him he would be very disappointed and would probably give him a whole lecture on why what he is saying is wrong.
Would you be upset if your house set on fire? Why or why not?
In the story, Miss Maudie's house set on fire on a cold night in autumn. If my house set on fire I would be upset because all my stuff would most likely burn.
Why did Atticus offer Calpurnia to stay with them?
He offered for Calpurnia to stay at their house on the night it snowed because she was like family to them and he wanted her to stay safe and warm.

In chapter 9, Scout keeps saying swear words during Christmas at Finch's Landing. I did say a few swear words when I was younger... although I was later punished for it.

In this chapter, Scout recalls a time when Aunt Alexandra told her to be more womanly. Why were women supposed to wear dresses back in the day?
They were supposed to wear dresses back in the day to be ladylike. Women were not supposed to do things that men could, which is why Aunt Alexandra said she should not be able to do things in pants, because those were manly activities.
Why did they call off school?
They called off school because it snowed.
Do you think Atticus would have been disappointed with Scout if she didn't resist the urge to fight? why?
I think he would have been disappointed if Scout hadn't resisted the urge to fight Cecil that day at school. Atticus wants her to learn to hold back her anger so that she can be prepared when she makes it out to the real world.
