Atticus was out of town and the kids are too wild.

Fine Folks were people who did the best they could with what they had.

Atticus is respectful of Dill’s situation and allows him to stay and even jokes about giving him a bath.

Why did the people at the church love Jem and Scout?
Atticus is helping Tom Robinson and so they welcome his children.
What happens when Atticus goes into the room to talk to Jem and Scout?
Atticus starts telling Jem and Scout the things that Aunt Alexandra told him to tell them. And Jem and Scout were surprised of the things he had said. Scout starts crying because Aunt Alexandra had changed who Atticus was.
What reminded Scout to ask what Rape is?
A passer-by said something about people raping up the countryside.
Why was Mr. Cunningham and his mob at the jail?
Mr. Cunningham and his mob wanted to kill Tom Robinson.
Why was Aunt Alexandira confused by Dill?
Dill was exaggerating about the standoff of the jailhouse
Why was Lula mad at Calpurnia?
She is always mad so they should mind her as well as them being white.
Why is Aunt Alexandra staying with the Finch family?
Aunt Alexandra says the kids are growing up and they need a feminine influence. She also wants to make sure they “live up” to the Finch name
Why won’t Atticus fire Calpurnia?
He says that Calpurnia is part of the family, and he said that she will leave whenever she wants to and that the children love her.
Why was Mr. Underwood and Atticus at the jailhouse so late at night?
Because Heck Tate told Atticus that he will be moving Tom out of the jailhouse to kill Tom himself.
Who is Mr. Dolphus Raymond?
He likes black people better than white people and he owns all of one side of the riverbank.
Why did Jem offer to donate money himself rather than use Calpurnia’s money?
Jem is trying to emulate what Atticus would have done in that situation?

He tried to shoot the president but instead, he blew up his hand with an old flintlock pistol.
"How" did Dill get to Scout’s house? And why?
Dill said that he took $13 from his mom’s purse. He had walked 10 miles to Maycomb And he had been under the bed for 2 hours waiting for Jem and Scout to go to bed so they could see him. He ran away from his house because he didn’t like his step-father. And said he was “bound in chains and left to die in the basement”
How did Scout “save” Atticus?
She saved Atticus by having a conversation with Mr. Cunningham preventing him from shooting.
