After a patient is done taking their meds/speaking to the nurse to respect their privacy.
Why isn’t cussing allowed at TLH?
It is disrespectful to staff and other patients, and it is good to practice thinking before speaking.
How do I get a turn to use the phone?
By putting your name on the phone list during designated phone time.
What do I do if I want my bathroom cleaned?
Remove all belongings from the shower and sink areas.
Who is eligible to attend the gym/outings?
Rehab patients who are not on seizure/fall precautions, who are passed day 1 of rehab.
When can I ask the nurse for lozenges or medications?
During break times or med pass (not during groups).
How can you contribute to a positive milieu?
By speaking recovery and uplifting others in the milieu. By following program rules and being respectful of others.
What clothing am I NOT allowed to wear on the unit?
Pajamas, tank tops, inappropriate words/images, hats, hoods, or beanies.
Belongings containing glass, razors, tweezers, or nail clippers must be kept where?
In your personal hygiene box in the laundry room (outside of hygiene times).
What is an appropriate way to ask a question or make a comment during group?
Raise your hand and wait to be called upon.

Why can’t we share “war stories”?
It is triggering to discuss drug use or traumatic details of our past with our peers, and it may make others want to use or discharge from programming.
What are the black boxes in the male and female hallways used for?
Making formal requests, complaints, compliments, or suggestions.
How many snacks can I keep in my room?
Zero.

To keep patients safe who are on seizure precautions.
How can I respect other people’s boundaries?
By not discussing topics they are uncomfortable with, by respecting other people's differences, and by focusing on your own recovery.
What is the drop off process?
Put a request for the drop off items in the black box and await approval from staff. (Only items on the belongings list can be brought into the facility and you are only allowed ONE drop off)
