The town is also judging Scout and Jem. Aunt Alexandra has certain expectations for what a proper young lady looks and acts like. She is also caught up in the expectations of a “Finch”.

He says that he was bound in chains and left to die in his basement by his new father. Dill worked himself free by pulling the chains of of the wall. He stole money from his mother and used it to buy a ticket, walked ten or eleven of the fourteen miles into Maycomb, then hitchhiked to the Finch's house.

Aunt Alexandra is somewhat disapproving of Calpurnia bringing the children and herself into her community. Atticus has no problem with this because of his level of respect for Calpurnia. He doesn’t mind opening Scout and Atticus to new things.

Why does Dill say that Boo has never run off and what is the significance of this statement? Do you believe he is right?
Dill says that Boo never ran off because he has no where to run off to. Dill is saying that Boo has no one else that he loves, he has no one that he wants to see. I personally do not believe this is right, I think that Dill has a picture of who Boo is in his head and that picture is not necessarily correct.

What does Atticus do when he finds that Dill is at his house which reinforces his kind, forgiving nature?
When he hears that Dill is at their house, he does not yell or appear mad, he simply offers Dill more food and a place to sleep.

He says goodnight to her, which tells us that although they may fight, he still loves her very much and he doesn't like when the two of them get into fights.
