Name two ways Toast email marketing beats the 3rd party email companies like Mailchimp and Constant Contact.

- No email exporting! With the number of emails you're collecting from Toast every day, you'd need to export your list every time you want to send an email!

- Estimated sales from emails sent. Mailchimp and CTCT cannot attribute $$ to email campaigns because they are not the credit card processor for the business. Isn't that the most important stat?!

- Segment and email your customers based on their spending behavior. Makes for the most effective campaigns and we can only do this because we are the processor!

- One login for your email marketing reporting and sales reporting

Customers receive up to 500 texts/month with the marketing suite. They will receive notices in Toast web if they are approaching their text limit and will be restricted from sending texts if they've reached their limit until the following month. How much more per month is it to upgrade to $1,000 per month?

$25/month. Square is $60 for up to 1,500 texts!

Name two ways that Toast's email marketing solution saves customers time

- Build your email list from a number of different sources

- Automatically segment your contact list based on buying behavior and market to them through set-it-and-forget-it campaigns

- Pre-made templates readily available for you to use

- No more email exporting into a different system!

- One tool to power your entire restaurant. See all of your marketing reports in the same place as your sales reports.

When sending an email through Toast, customers can see how many emails were open and clicked through, and can also see the estimated sales attributed to that campaign. How does Toast come up with this estimated sales number?

Toast attributes a guest's order to your marketing campaign if the guest places an order within 14 days of receiving your email, and provides their email address with the order. They can do this through:

  • Requesting a digital receipt

  • Paying with a credit card linked to their Toast rewards account

  • Signing up for a Toast rewards account

  • Placing an online order

A campaign's estimated sales amount first appears on the dashboard at least 72 hours after sending the campaign. The amount is then recalculated once a day to capture new revenue.

Name two ways in which Toast email marketing beats social media marketing through Facebook/Instagram.

- Real time results! See who has opened your email and clicked through to a link. How do customers measure the success of a Facebook post?

- There are pre-built templates in Toast already, so save time creating your message!

- Tailored messages to different customers based on their spending behavior instead of a blanket message to everyone!

- Get in front of a bigger audience - we are collecting emails from a number of different channels. To get a facebook follower your customer must go and like your page in the first place!

- We know 70% of first time visitors won't come back to your establishment. Make sure you get a piece of contact information!

What is the first thing a customer needs to do in Toast web to get started with email marketing?

  • The first step is for the customer to submit their restaurant group's business information in Toast Web so they can get a verified toll-free phone number for their group

  • The phone number verification process should only take a few days (although can range from 2-14 days). Once completed, they will be ready to start growing their SMS subscriber list. They will see that their phone number is live in product.
