I had a lot of problems with my other ToastGos. What has Toast done to make sure these are more resilient?
This’s a fair question, and I understand your concern. Toast Go 2 has been designed specifically to address the gaps and issues present in our earlier Toast Go model. In fact feedback from CXs like you has directly informed the enhancements and improvements we’ve made.Some of these improvements include contactless payment, a longer battery life, IP54 Splash proofing, a larger display, double the processing power and faster payment speeds.
I got x amount off of my initial hardware purchase. Why won’t you honor that discounting for TG2?
When you received x amount off of your initial hardware purchase, your quote had an expiration date in which that discounting would be valid. Currently, we are offering discounting that is value driven for our customers and in line with the industry average. How much additional revenue have you made since switching to Toast?
What should I do with my old ToastGo1’s
Because you purchased your hardware when you brought Toast into your restaurant, they are yours to keep!

No, you do not need to replace your ToastGo 1 just because we have released the ToastGo 2.
Can I swap out my TG1 for the TG2?
I would be happy to quote you a price to replace your ToastGo 1 with ToastGo 2. However, we currently do not have a swap or buy back program available. Are you interested in upgrading all of your handhelds?
I just bought these Toast Gos a few months/weeks ago! Why didn’t you sell me the new ToastGo 2
At the time you decided to add on the ToastGo/Sign on with Toast, the ToastGo 2 was not yet available. Additionally, you can still be assured you’re running your business on durable, restaurant grade hardware. Just as apple releases a new iphone, you’re not going to receive the newest model just because you purchased the old one before the release.

What if I don’t want to replace my TG1 with a TG2, can I still buy a TG1?
Why wouldn’t you want to replace your ToastGo with the ToastGo 2? It is the newest, fastest, most durable model of handheld we offer. Because of this, we are no longer producing the Toast Go and have put all of our production resources into the Toast Go 2.
Why don’t the Toast Go 2 devices have 4g capability?
That is a question I’ve heard before, and when I explain it to you I think you’ll see that not having 4g capability is actually a better option. Because Toast runs off of a private, secure network and our handhelds are processing payments, we need to be sure the handheld connection stays private. If we were to offer 4g on our devices, we would be opening up your business for risk of connectivity issues and data insecurity. Additionally, because Toast handhelds are connected to the private Toast network instead of 4g, they still function and communicate with the kitchen and service printers even when in offline mode.

Although the ToastGo 1 is no longer our newest, fastest, or sleekest handheld they are still a fully supported and restaurant grade piece of Toast Hardware. Unfortunately, I am not able to sell you a ToastGo 1 at this moment, as we have shifted all new sales to Toast Go 2.
I just went live on Toast, can you buy back my TG1 and give me TG2s?
If your devices are unused, and you received them less than 30 days ago, then you can return them. If you are looking for just an upgrade to the TG2, you can purchase a TG2 to use instead of a TG1 and we will transfer over your existing software. Toast Go 2 is protected by Toast’s Limited Hardware Warranty and is fully supported by Toast’s award winning customer care team. Additionally, we have designed Toast Go 2 to withstand the rigors of a restaurant environment.
Do I need to add on any subscriptions if I am replacing my TG1s with TG2s?
No, you do not! I can prepare you a quote and send you the agreement for the ToastGo 2s without additional software cost added on.
What happens when a new to Toast customer who bought TG1 at time of booking, but is not live yet and order is still in draft mode.
TG1 is removed from order, and TG2 is added to the order with max 30% discount to replace initially offered TG1 discount (if applicable). E.g. if a customer got a 50% discount on TG1, then they would get a max of 30% on TG2. If a customer got a 20% discount on TG1, then they would get a 20% discount on TG2.
