They snap and break because they are not strong enough to pull Matty from the glue. They get stuck to his glue suit.

Use small dots of glue instead of too much (like a puddle)

Matty uses too much glue and gets stuck to his desk!
What is the problem with the lego brick tow truck solution?
The tow truck explodes because it is not strong enough and plastic bricks get stuck in Matty's glue suit.

Why is Matty's teacher breathe into a paper bag?
To try and calm down. Because one of her students is glued to a desk!

Why can't the nurse send Matty home? What is the problem?
Matty doesn't have a temperature.
'It's the biggest one we could make!" they shout, furiously flapping a huge paper fan at me.
Does furiously mean they are mad when used in this sentence?
No. It means in an extremely energetic or hurried manner
What is happening when the "tow truck explodes and plastic bricks rain all over."?
The plastic bricks are falling down.
Can you think of another way you could help get Matty 'unstuck'?
Use a pancake flipper, try to cut him out with plastic knives, get soap and water from the bathroom and try to wash him up, .....?
How does Matty's problem finally get solved?
The kids have built a huge paper fan and it helps Matty's glue suit dry. Just in time for his dad to pull him from the desk.
What gives Matty the idea to build a big fan to try and solve his problem?
His teacher is huffing and puffing with anxiety.
"Please encourage Matty to use tape instead of glue."
What does encourage mean?
give support and advice to (someone) so that they will do or continue to do something
He gently grips the dried glue in front of my neck and behind my collar - and peels me open like a ripe banana!
What is Matty's dad doing?!
He is taking the glue suit off of Matty.
