The unit for the strength of a force
A newton
The distance an object moves per unit of time.
What is Newton's first law of motion?
An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted upon by a force.
The amount of matter something has
What is mass
What was our last topic?
Types of forces
A push or a pull
A force
The speed at which an oject travels in a given direction
What is velocity?
What is Newton's second law of motion?
An ojects mass directly affects how much force is needed to accelerate the object.
When an object moving slows down, it is due to this force
Friction
What science subject are you studying this year? (2nd grade)
Physical Science
The combination of all forces acting on an object
The net force
Nicki rides her bike at a constant speed for 6 km. That part of her ride takes her 1 hour. She then rides her bike at a constant speed for another 8 km. That part of her ride takes her 2 hours. What is her average speed?
5.00km/h
What is Newton's third law of motion?
Force that acts between the center of the earth and all objects in the universe that have mass.
Gravity
What jobs can you do with a Physics degree?
Engineer, Astronomy and astrophysics, scientist
Gravity, magnetism, and electrical forces are an example of what kind of force?
Noncontact forces
When a car speeds up, slows down, or changes direction, it is experiencing this type of change in motion.
Acceleration
This is the tendency of objects to keep doing what they’re already doing, whether that’s staying still or moving, unless something else pushes or pulls on them.
Inertia
What is kinetic energy?
The energy of motion
What is my last name?
Gutierrez
Calculated the net force and direction
2N > < 6n

A car starts at a stop sign at 0 km/h. In 2 hours speeds up to 20 km/h. This is an example of this kind of change in motion.
10 km/h2
Why don't objects in motion continue moving forever?
Even if nothing appears to stop a moving object, forces such as friction, air resistance and gravity are all acting on the object to slow it down.
This type of force keeps objects moving in a circle, like when you swing a ball on a string around in a circle and the string pulls the ball inward.
Centripetal force
Define physics
The branch of science concerned with the nature and properties of matter and energy. The subject matter of physics includes mechanics, heat, light and other radiation, sound, electricity, magnetism, and the structure of atoms.
