The citation should be accurate and legible. It is highly recommended to fill out the citation in ALL CAPS. It should be filled out with pen and must have no empty spaces.

A belt with a holster, training pistol, handcuffs, and citation clipboard with a pen.
What information is included in the vehicle description? (First radio contact)
Vehicle color, make, model, and number of occupants.
Ex. "The vehicle will be a silver in color Ford F-150 with two occupants."
What should you do as soon as you reach the violator's vehicle and as you approach the violator?
Touch the tail light and pull on the trunk to ensure that it is closed. Then, physically clear the back seat by vividly looking into the back seat windows.
How should you speak to the violator?
With CONFIDENCE! Make sure the driver and passenger know that you are in charge.
Tips: Don't say "please", you can still say "thank you". Don't say "can you" either. Instead, say "will you...", or, "I will need you to...".
What should you write in the citation box if you don't know the answer?
If you don't know the answer, either cross out the box OR write "NA".

How many people (occupants) may be in the vehicle?
There can be up to two occupants in the vehicle. Either a driver and passenger, or just the driver.
What does 10-27, 10-28, and 10-29 mean?
Drivers license number, license plate number, and person description (race, gender, last name, first name, middle name, DOB).
Ex. "My 10-27 will be on Texas drivers license number 12345678, my 10-28 will be on Texas license plate ABC-1234, and my 10-29 will be on white male Charles Adam Boy, date of birth 01/11/1998
Where should your right hand (or left if you're left handed) be during approach?
You must keep your primary hand on or next to your firearm. You will be required to keep that hand empty at all times.
What should you do while the violator is reaching for something you ask them to get?
WATCH THEIR HANDS. You never know if they may reach for a weapon.

Give them to the violator separately.

What should you always do while approaching the violator's vehicle?
LOOK COMPLETELY BEHIND YOU for oncoming traffic! You should do this as soon as you exit the patrol vehicle and at least two more times while approaching the violator's vehicle.
What two items should you ask the violator for during the first contact?
Ask the violator for their drivers license and their proof of insurance.
How should you tell dispatch that you are in a traffic stop?
You should start the traffic stop by saying anything along the lines of, "I'll be in a 10-75", or, "I have a 10-75."
Should you still look behind you, even when you are returning to the patrol vehicle?
YES! Anytime you are walking between the two vehicles, LOOK BEHIND YOU. In real life, there will be oncoming traffic.

2. (Mr/Ms/Mrs) (Violator's Last Name), I will be issuing you a citation for (Restate Violation(s)). Here is your drivers license and proof of insurance. I will need you to sign on the x, by signing here is not a submission of guilt, it is just stating that you will appear in court within the fourteen days to take care of the citation. Do you understand? ... Okay, are there any further questions? ... Okay great, have a nice day.
