What is a transversal
Any line that intersects two or more parallel lines.

What is the converse (opposite) of the alternate interior angles theorem? If p and q are parallel, and r is a transversal, then angle D is congruent to angle E.
If r is a transversal and angle D is congruent to angle E, then p and q are parallel.
Linear Pair Angles
If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, these angles are on the inside of the two parallel lines and on the same side of the transversal.

Same-side angles (consecutive)
A pair of adjacent angles formed by intersecting lines. These angles are also supplementary.

Given that a || m, measure of angle 5=98°, then the measures of angles 3 and 4 are:If the measure of angle 4= 5x+3 and the measure of angle 6= 8x-5, then find the value of x and find the measure of angles 4& 6?
What is 5x+3+8x-5=180 13x-2=180 13x=182 x=14 Angle 4=5(14)+3=73 degrees Angle 6= 8(14)-5=107 degrees
