Methadone patients are not "bad" people trying to become "good"; they are sick people trying to recover. It can happen to anyone.
Is Addiction a Disease?
The opioid dependent patient takes a daily dose of methadone as a liquid or pill. This reduces their withdrawal symptoms, cravings for opioids, and are able to function at a more "normal" level.
Why should I dose daily?

How long should I be on methadone?

Methadone clinics are just a legal way for people to get high. Methadone causes long-term damage to the body; including weight gain and rotting teeth.
What are some of the common myths of Methadone?
People with many common chronic illnesses are physically dependent on their medication to keep them well, such as insulin for diabetes
Am I physically dependent on Methadone in order to treat my Addiction?
Producing a cold urine sample, an insufficient sample of urine, or refusing to provide a urine drug screen upon request.
What is considered a positive drug screen?
A Methaone taper entails gradually reducing medication doses to avoid withdrawal symptoms and safely discontinue Methadone. This approach helps the body adjust to lower drug levels, making termination of use more manageable.
Should I just stop taking Methadone?
A condition when the physical dependence has negative impacts on the person’s social, psychological and physical wellbeing.

Why do individuals risk relapse even after long periods of abstinence, and despite a relapse's potentially devastating effects?
Seeing the Center's Doctor &/or Nurse Practitioner every 3 months and as needed
Why do I have to see the doctor so often, in order to refill my prescription for Methadone? Is it a requirement?
