How much water does plants need per day?

This is a little more than 1 tablespoon per day. Water use was not constant during the study; small plants used 1 tablespoon per day, while large plants used slightly less than 2 tablespoons per day. Overall, there was a good correlation between plant growth and the amount of water applied.

Plants that require the most water are typically those with high water demands, such as rice , watercress , water hyacinth, and certain varieties of willow trees. On average, about 2,500 liters of water need to be supplied (by rainfall and/or irrigation) to a rice field to produce 1 kg of rough rice. These 2,500 liters account for all the outflows of evapotranspiration, seepage, and percolation.

What's the difference between zucchini and cucumber?

Zucchini has a thick, woody stem at the top, and a slightly soft (and often speckled) skin. Cucumbers usually have a waxier and harder skin, and often a bumpier texture.

When you cut them open, you'll get a better sense of the differences. Cucumbers have a crispy and cool texture and more prominent seeds (other than a few seedless varieties), while zucchini can be a bit more spongy and has subtle seeds.

But the biggest difference is in how these two veggies are used in recipes. Generally, zucchini is served cooked, and cucumbers are served raw—though there are a few dishes for each that buck that rule.

When state-of-the-art storage was the 80 kilobytes floppy disk. Nevertheless, the floppy disc was the primary mode of data storage from its invention through most of the 90s. The task of creating this storage device was given to David L. Noble and his team of engineers while working at IBM in the late 60s. Multiple team members tested and contributed to the project. By 1972, the floppy disk was being sold worldwide and was the standardized data storage device for over 20 years after invention.

Fun Facts

The other invention that shook the world around the same time was the VCR. Before the 70s, watching a movie was all about taking your friends, S.O., or the entire family to the theater to watch the latest blockbuster. Then the VCR by Philips became available in 1972, and the very definition of “home entertainment” changed forever. For fans of the small screen, this also meant no more missing TV shows if you had to leave the house for an event. The VCR came with its share of competition in what would become known as the “videotape format wars,” notably the Sony Betamax; a tape with higher quality and a higher price. Initially, Sony lobbied the Japanese Ministry of International Trade & Industry (MITI) to make Betamax the standard format, which would allow them to license the technology. However, JVC created VHS as an open standard with no licensing fees, making the VHS the no-brainer choice for distributors. Sony Betamax was ultimately done in by the higher cost and shorter run-time of Betamax.
