On the last leg of a hike, a scout begins to lag behind. His feet hurt because his shoes were not tied well and he is in pain. His morale is plummeting and he's slowing the group down.
Have him fix his laces as best as possible, they should be secure but not pinching. If he can walk get him talking as you keep going. ask questions, get his mind off his feet, and take breaks. It's not a race, we move as a team.
