Government law, in most cases, requires companies to test all of their products before they get to the market. Nearly all drugs people use have been tested on animals before they were released for public use. Testing on animals has helped develop vaccines for many life-threatening diseases like Polio, rabies, malaria, and mumps. Several animal drugs available today such as heartworm medicine are the products of animal testing.
