Must deliver a 3-5 speech on a topic selected from 3 options. Participant must demonstrate knowledge on topic chosen.
Extemporaneous Speech
2 hours to write a research based essay on a given prompt.
Essay on Technology
Static team event that must include instructions, pieces, cards, etc.
Board Game Design
Participants must develop, implement, test, document and present software development with educational or social value.
Software Development
Use graphing and 3-D tools to develop models of different types of architecture.
CAD Architecture
Prepare a video lesson on a developing technology. Must submit a lesson plan and have a planned activity.
Future Technology Teacher
Debating Technological Issues
Static individual event that must reflect the state conference theme and is only done at the STATE level
Pin Design
Participants must design, build and launch a website based on the annual challenge.
Webmaster
Create 3-D representation of engineering subjects that solve a given design challenge.
CAD Engineering
Participant must deliver a 3-5 minute presentation related to the annual theme.
Prepared Presentation
Use digital audio technology to record original content based on the annual theme. Must feature high levels of voice acting and storytelling techniques.
Audio Podcasting
Demonstrates knowledge of mechanical and control systems by creating an animatronic device with a specific purpose.
Animatronics
Participants develop a solution to a problem (typically industrial) based on an annual challenge. Must submit a documentation portfolio including technical illustrations.
System Control Technology
Address issue given by the annual theme by interpreting geospatial data. Participants develop a digital portfolio with maps, data and pertinent documentation.
Geospatial Technology
Take a parliamentary procedure test as a qualification to get through the first round. Semifinalists conduct an opening and losing ceremony, items of business, and parliamentary actions.
Chapter Team
Participants use written and verbal communication skills to convey a news story based on the annual theme. Must demonstrate a strong understanding of journalism etiquette.
STEM Mass Media
Static team event that cannot be longer than 3 minutes and must cover the theme.
