This episode from Season 3 was one of the first purely written by Britt Allcroft and David Mitton, not based off any existing material. Its final shot was beloved by Britt, so much so she had it framed in her house.

To coincide with the release of this special, Wooden Railway re-released a lot of previously discontinued characters, such as Derek, Splatter and Dodge.

Sometime in the early 2010's, a prop of this character went missing from the layout at Drayton Manor. While the current whereabouts of the prop or information of its disappearance is unknown, many speculate it was stolen from the display.
Who is Toby?
This character's only release in Tomy/Trackmaster was in the 65th Anniversary pack from Plarail. By that point, this character hadn't been in the show for over a decade.
Who is Old Slow Coach?
This engine's basis was preserved in 1907, the only member of its class to be so, and is currently located at the National Railway Museum in York. It has not been steamed since the 1980's, and is currently on static display.
Who is Emily?
These six episodes from Season 6 were redubbed with new music for use during TV Airings of Season 9. These dubs include narration by Michael Brandon and Michael Angelis, and have music by Robert Hartshorne.

This narrow-gauge location was originally planned to have a wooden railway version in the mid 2000's, however it was cancelled prior to release. It can be seen in catalogs, and in a layout shown in some yearbooks.
What is the Slate Mine / Slate Quarry?
Throughout the model series, many characters had large scale models created to be used in close-up shots, or shots involving human figures. While large scale models had no faces, these two characters had them.
Who are Thomas and Duke?
A pack based on this episode was the last item released by Motor Road and Rail (Tomy) in 2007 in Europe and Australia before the line was replaced with Trackmaster
What is "Percy's Chocolate Crunch"?
This engine's basis was originally produced by the United States Army Transportation Corps, and was sent all across Europe to help with the war efforts, including the Southern Railway in the UK. These engines ended up working in the docks at Southampton, ironically replacing Thomas' class.
Who is Rosie?
This episode was the only season finale in the classic series to not feature Thomas in it whatsoever, excluding the intro and credits sequences.

This episode famously had its second half completely reshot, with the only evidence of the original being promotional photos taken from magazine stories. While no concrete reason has been given for why, it is assumed that the incorrect rolling stock was used originally.
What is "The Trouble with Mud"?
This set was the only release of the updated Plarail 2003 Thomas (with new face, painted running board and painted boiler stripes) in North America and Europe.
What is Thomas at the Timber Yard / Thomas & Terence Deluxe Action Set?
David Maidment's original stories for Derek actually involved this class of diesel, rather than the Class 17. This class, nicknamed "Teddy Bears", had a tendency to run hot, thus needing to be rescued by the engines they were meant to help.
