How do scientists track turtles? Explain the process.

They track them by: 

 A transmitter is attached to a turtle’s shell. Every time the turtle comes to the surface of the water for air, information about the turtle is sent to scientists.  Scientists use the information to track the movements of the turtle, the route they have traveled, where they go to find food, and estimate how fast they are swimming.
