This code is used when there is illegal use or possession of alcohol, drugs or drug paraphernalia, or any other violation of the Syracuse University Policy on Alcohol, Other Drugs, and Tobacco.

What/Who is the procedural advisor?
This code is used when a student is publicly intoxicated or otherwise behaving in an inappropriate manner in public
What is Code 9?
When a student is found responsible, their sanctions will always include at least two outcomes
A disciplinary status and educational intervention
The amnesty policy and when it might be applied
When a student/student organization calls for help on behalf of another student (or themselves) due to extreme intoxication, they will not be found responsible for violating the Code of Student Conduct

These codes are very similar however one refers specifically to a threat of or actual physical harm to a community member and the other refers to conduct which threatens the physical or mental health of a community member. Identify these codes and their description.
What are Codes 1 and 3?
This sanction is assigned to students who need to reflect on what they would like to accomplish with the rest of their time at SU and how their actions could impact their ability to accomplish their goals. They must also create an action plan for 5-10 of their goals.

A student is talking to someone on Marshall Street. It is a heated conversation and all of a sudden the student takes their Hydroflask and uses it to hit the person they are talking to. The water bottle now violates this code
Code 13 - improper use as a weapon of any otherwise permitted object or material
This workshop discusses how students can be more polite and considerate to those in their community to ultimately become a better member of the community

The complainant and respondent will receive the UCB Opinion within this many business days
8 business days after the hearing
Identify the order of events during a hearing (Hint: think about the script and be specific)
1. Introductions and description of the process by the chairperson
2. Reading of the charges against the respondent, and the respondent's response to these charges
3. Opening Statements (complainant then respondent)
4. Presentation of case by the complainant including any witnesses
5. Presentation of case by the respondent including any witnesses
6. Closing Statements (complainant then respondent)
A group of 3 students are seen running around campus. Two of them drop cans of Four Loko when they see DPS. DPS yells at them to stop where they are but they keep running. As DPS follows them, one picks up a traffic cone and keeps running all the way into the residence hall. These would be the appropriate charges
