Advising Fact/Fiction
You must see your academic advisor each semester.
Fact - You will need to see your advisor each semester to make a plan and get your advisement hold cleared so you can register for classes.
It is okay to have my friend or parent sit in my advisement appointment.
Fiction- appointments are for students only. Family and friends can support you afterward.
You will get an email from your advisor before 10 am tomorrow morning.
Fact - You should received an email from your advisor by 10 am in the morning to let you know what time your orientation advising appointment is.
I have checked my DegreeWorks to make sure my major is displaying correctly.

You should not tell your advisor if you are expecting AP, IB, or Dual Enrollment credits.
Fiction - You should tell your advisor any credits you are expecting even if you have not received the results.
Advisors can register for you.
Fiction - only you can register advisors, cannot add or remove classes
You should expect to get the perfect schedule tomorrow.
Fiction - remember you have until the fifth day of the start of classes to change your schedule
You can email your advisor anytime after Orientation.
Fact - just remember you may not get an immediate response.
My advisor will make all my decisions for me.
Fiction - advisors will help guide you but decisions are up to you and should be individual.
