Equipping the Hunter Exotic Oathkeeper with this Destiny 2 exotic causes the window to fire a poison arrow to last indefinitely, instead of a few seconds.
Le Monarque
Among the Exos encountered in the series, this character is the only one without a visible moving mouth, possessing LEDs which activate when she speaks instead. However, an excerpt from Destiny: The Official Cookbook implies she is capable of eating and drinking, though it does not depict her doing so or explicitly identify her.

Interestingly, when aiming down sights, the weapon lacks a holographic reticule. Instead, the player needs to rely on the weapon's physical iron sight. It is also adorned with an iconic symbol stamped onto the underside of the shotgun, located on the magazine loading port which historically, is often used to signify royalty.
Perfect Paradox
This character's role in The Taken King was originally possessed by Uldren Sov in the original story of Destiny. This character's personality is how Sov (known then as "the Crow") would have been portrayed.
Cayde-6
This race was the second enemy faction to make their appearance in Destiny, shown in the Law of the Jungle trailer, being preceded by the Fallen. They are sometimes informally referred to by Guardians as "War Rhinos" or "Space Turtles".

Queenbreakers' Bow
This Destiny 2 exotic appears to be heavily based upon two similar weapons from Destiny, Black Hammer and Black Spindle. All three weapons have the "White Nail" perk, and all are closely connected to the Hive.
Whisper of the Worm
This Vex is the second known Taken in destiny to retain at least partial control of its will, after Malok and before Riven, of a Thousand Voices. In the same lore entries that describe the (supposed) first contact between it and The Guardian, the Vex simulation includes a facsimile of Master Rahool decrypting the vessel of Medusa into a Shader, two generic tokens, and a non-descript rare-quality item. This is a reference to the meme "two tokens and a blue" in the Destiny community.
Quria, Blade Transform
This race was designed and built during humanity's Golden Age by the Clovis Bray corporation.
The Exos
Archaeological findings indicate that this faction has existed as early as the late Golden Age. It was founded by Dr. Maya Sundaresh and her team in Lhasa, as a result of their experiments on a Vex-inspired mind-forking device used to look into the future.
Future War Cult
This faction is one of the major Fallen houses, distinguishable by their three-pointed yellow cloaks. Among the Eliksni, they are unique, secretive, and dangerous. Their power is only matched by their cleverness. They hide in the shadows, waiting, and plotting the downfall of the Last City and reclamation of the Traveler.
The House of Kings
This planet is the fourth planet in the Sol System, and the third largest terrestrial planet.

Cayde-6 refers to the legend of the ____ in his memoirs. Shiro-4 would reportedly spin stories about how their deceased companion Lush had not in fact died but joined ____ in his world-saving quests.
The initial lore description is also a reference to the Book of Mark (5:9) in the Bible.
Rat King
During the Quest to build this weapon, a transmission excerpt from Eris states that the Touch of Malice was used as a blueprint for it. She comments that, while the Touch of Malice was "crude, vicious", this weapon is a "thing of beauty".
Ruinous Effigy
This ghost, also known by the nickname Pulled Pork, is a very friendly and earnest Ghost who revived Prince Uldren Sov of the Reef as a Lightbearer.
Glint
According to a post on RollingStone, the story of this race was inspired by a little known movie called Gandahar which was about metal men who come from the future and begin turning everything in a paradise world to stone.
The Vex
This faction, also known as the Followers of Osiris, is a religious group composed of the non-Guardian disciples of the exiled Warlock Osiris.

According to the Drifter, this race has an aversion to methane, which makes it particularly difficult for them to operate on Titan.
The Taken
The House of ____ was one of many cults that formed upon the arrival of the Traveler in the Solar System. Due to differences of opinion over the Traveler, the cults ended up fighting, with this faction emerging victorious. The cult endorsed the mission of Ares One to travel to Mars and interact with the Traveler and prayed for the success of their mission.
The House of Eternal Travel
This faction had a unique faction insignia distinct from the general Hive in-game. The symbol resembled the central "eye" of Xol, Will of the Thousands. Another symbol of this faction bore the head shape and eyes of Nokris.
The Grasp of Nokris
This planet is a Centaur minor planet with an irregular orbit. At perihelion, it is closer to the Sun than Uranus; at aphelion, it moves into the Kuiper belt. It is a place where light is scarce.

Quicksilver Storm
This character is encountered many times throughout The Taken King storyline. He is first encountered in the story mission Cayde's Stash. He attacks by firing Darkness Blasts and will summon waves of Taken as well as teleport to evade danger. He also has the ability to summon blight bombs over the Guardian's head. The bomb creates a circle of fire on the ground; get out of the way or you will die.
The Echo of Oryx
The name of this race comes from the Sanskrit term for attachment to one's ego. It is implied in several lore entries that are aware of Destiny being a video game.
The Ahamkara
This faction's purpose is very similar to that of Rasputin's DVALIN FORGE subroutine. Both Rasputin and this faction's founders realized that humanity's demilitarization during the Golden Age posed a danger should enemies arrive from outside the system. In order to prevent this, both parties secretly began producing weapons for humanity to use if they were to be attacked.
The Black Armory
This faction is an armada of massive Darkness-aligned tetrahedral vessels, known as Pyramids. It is commanded by, or at least plays host to, an entity known as the Witness and their followers, the Disciples.
The Black Fleet
This planet (also called Jupiter II) is one of the Galilean moons in orbit of the planet Jupiter. Vex influence is known to be present on the icy moon. It is also the location of the Deep Stone Crypt, and the resting point of a Pyramid that entered the Solar System during the Golden Age.

The Hothead
It was largely believed by fans that this character was the leader or one of the leaders of the House of Dusk after finding many clues relating to him. His reappearance and leadership of the Scorn make the rumors partially true. He is the founder of the House of Dusk but not their leader, though its implied that he is revered by the Fallen for the former reason.
Uldren Sov
This race is the first of a certain other race's faction in the Destiny series that does not possess its own Servitors of any kind, likely as a result of their hatred for this other race's old traditions and beliefs.
The Scorn

This faction is a Hive sect who act as the direct servants of Oryx, the Taken King. They are distinguishable by their grey and purple coloring.

Jack Queen King 3
This character is a Scorn Abomination that serves as a subordinate to Sikariis, Plague of the Well and Varkuuriis, Plague of the Well and is found with Itzlii, Herald of the Plague during tier 2 and 3 of week 1 of the Dreaming City curse.
Macuii, Herald of the Plague
Dregs from the House of Salvation appear in the ranks of this race during the Coup de Grâce mission, indicating their corruption by the Cryptoliths. Similar to how some among the Hive would beg to be Taken, some of Xivu's Hive would offer themselves to become one of this race.
The Wrathborn
The House of ____ was a powerful family during the Golden Age that helped found the Black Armory.
The House of Meyrin
This faction is a Vex programming collective found in the Arcadian Valley on Nessus, Echo Mesa on Io, the Fields of Glass on Mercury, and on Europa. These Vex have bronze frames with a seafoam patina, with some such as Storm Minotaurs and Axis Minds having a more pronounced patina.
The Sol Collective
This planet is the second largest moon of Jupiter in the Sol System. It is mentioned by a Guardian to possess a small Hive presence. The structure of the Moon is filled with tunnels that were burrowed by the Hive.
Callisto
After the Faction Wars, the City's government was divided into three factions, and they now use civil channels to gain power and influence rather than fighting one another. What are these three factions?

Sojourner's Tale
While it is common for Guardians to use their fallen enemies' souls as weapons, this Destiny 2 exotic is the first known time that a Guardian has used another Guardian's soul as a weapon.
Xenophage
This character is currently the only character in Destiny seen to share the same name with another completely separate character, that being. Because of this, he is also one of two Taken Cabal to have a distinctly Hive-like name, the other being Mant Yût, Born of the Hellmouth.
Yächaar, Bound to Sedia (Malfeasance)
After the Traveler visited and then departed this race's planet, this race became divided into two groups, The Regime who worshiped the Traveler and the Wanderers who rejected it and traveled the Wildlands of their home world.
The Lubraeans
A Hunter cloak called "Cult/Trinary Star" bears the description "The mark of the Trinary Star, the hidden cult who curse the Traveler's light". It is possible that this faction and Trinary Star are the same group given the similarities of their beliefs, and the slight difference in names stems from a developer oversight.
Binary Star Cult
This faction is a Vex collective located in the Black Garden that are the faithful protectors and worshipers of the Black Heart residing within it.
The Sol Divisive
This planet is a moon of Saturn. There were supposedly Crystal Orchards on the moon that were found by Fireteam Pergamon. However, Pergamon's last transmission requesting backup was cutoff before they could broadcast coordinates for the orchards. Crystals reportedly from the orchards later surfaced in The Last City and eventually ended up in the possession of the Warlock Wen Jie.
Dione
After The Battle of Burning Lake, though the Guardians successfully repel the invasion, this character attempts to dissuade the Consensus from ordering a counterattack, arguing that the Hive's power needed to be understood before a proper offensive could be launched.
