Paragraph 1: Madeline galloped down the lane on her magnificent brown horse. She hated wearing a sidesaddle with her long skirts and white gloves, but her mother insisted it was the only proper way for a young lady to ride. Her time with the horses was the only freedom Madeline had! She never got to spend time with the other young ladies in her small town. The rest of her time was spent sewing, learning to cook, and preparing for her upcoming marriage. Madeline's mother told her that it was a young lady's place to stay inside of her home and that proper young ladies didn't have time to sit around and chat with other young ladies. Madeline knew that she had lots of housework to do before dark. It was hard to clean when candles were lit after the sun went down.

Paragraph 2: “Giddyap!” Jessy yelled, recklessly kicking her heels on the side of the brown horse to encourage her to go faster. She loved visiting her sister’s ranch during the summer. The ranch was very large, and there were so many places to ride horses AND motorcycles around the ranch. She wished she didn’t have to go back to school in the fall, but she knew her parents expected her to go to college someday. Jessy couldn't wait to see her friends and start taking selfies with them on her new iPhone!
